Humane Societies
The majority of humane societies or shelters provide humane care to lost and abandoned animals. They also rescue sick, injured and abused animals. Most of them hold animals while trying to get them adopted into new homes. They provide help and education to the general public about companion animals. Often these groups are the last chance an animal has to have a loving home with loving care.
