Second Chance Animal Center, incorporated in 1959 as the Bennington County Society, has been serving the needs of homeless animals in the tri-state area for over 50 years. We are located on VT Route 7A, at the Shaftsbury/Arlington town line, about halfway between Bennington and Manchester Vermont. We are open to the public Tuesday through Sunday from 11:00-3:30, with extended hours on Wednesday until 7:00pm. We are closed Monday and on major holidays.
Second Chance Animal Center (SCAC) is dedicated to providing compassionate shelter and adoption services for the animals in our care, improving the lives of companion animals in the communities that we serve via spay/neuter assistance, humane education, advocacy, and humane investigative advice and assistance to law enforcement agencies.
